Rafael Jose Consing Jr.

Rafael Jose Consing Jr. joined the Office of the Presidential Adviser for Investment and Economic Affairs on January 16. Prior to this, he worked for almost 16-years at the International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) where his last role was SVP and concurrent Chief Financial Officer and Compliance Officer.

Joel is a six-time Corporate Governance Asia Awardee for Best CFO (Investor Relations) for Asia – from 2016 to 2021; recognized in 2019 as the Best CFO for Southeast Asia, and 2017 and 2019 Best CFO in the Philippines by Alpha Southeast; he was included in the Institutional Investors 2018 and 2021 All Asia Executive Team; named 2017 CFO of the Year by CFO Innovation; and 2011 Treasurer of the Year – Philippines, by The Asset.

He has a wide range of experience in investment banking and capital markets having worked in various roles in the Philippines, Singapore and Hong Kong with HSBC, Bankers Trust, ING Barings and Multinational Bancorporation. His first role in corporate treasury was Vice President and Treasurer at the Philippine conglomerate, Aboitiz & Co., Inc., and its publicly-listed vehicle, Aboitiz Equity Ventures, Inc.

He has broad corporate governance experience with public companies in the Philippines, Indonesia and Pakistan. He sat as a member of the board of directors of several international and Philippine subsidiaries of ICTSI. He was also a member of the board of directors and the executive committee of the Manila Water Company, Inc. and a member of the board of directors of Prime Infrastructure Capital, Inc. and Country Builders Bank, Inc.

Joel transitioned from a hobbyist angel investor to principal founder. He was a co-founder of Rhodium 688 Builders, Inc., Net Global Solutions, Inc., TOP, NEMO IG, Flashpackers, Inc, and Orera Green Technologies.

Joel was an early investor in A.I. and digital art. He is a member of the Curation Committee of the Basel-based NFT collective, SNGLR.NFT.

He has published 2 books and 7 short stories – The Archon of Peace, Desert Outcast, Sav Rakara, Bhasto (the Serestrian Household I), Lerrina (the Serestrian Household II), Grecion (the Serestrian Household III), Sorcera (The General’s Book 1), Straros, Wil O Wish.

He graduated from De La Salle University with a degree in Bachelor of Arts, major in Political Science. He completed the Emerging CFO: Strategic and Financial Leadership Program at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business Executive Education Program
